One of my favourite local loops is a 16 mile off road circuit that passes by the picturesque Moorgreen Reservoir. When the sun is shining the Reservoir reflects perfectly like mirror.
Here is the fifth video of my 'Moorgreen Reservoir loop' playlist. This section is the lovely trail at the side of Moorgreen Reservoir. It's fast and flowing, and amazing in the Sun.
As you enter the trail from the bottom of the weaver’s lane downhill, you are faced with the edge of the reservoir protected by a thin line of trees. Shoot left straight away and start the fast-flowing trail at the edge of the east side of the reservoir. It’s an undulating trail with a downhill feel no matter which way you go along the trail. In this section you are heading toward the small village of Moorgreen.
As you flow beware of walkers and bikers coming the other way. Often, I have been surprised when entering a corner, only to have to slam my brakes on when exiting. Make sure you look right to take in the flat smooth reflective reservoir which glistens through the trees.
At the end of the trail you enter a track which comes out on the A600 taking you into Moorgreen. From here you can continue with the loop or take a right into Colliers wood and on to a different trail.
