In the heart of Nottinghamshire are two fantastic photogenic places that are a must see.
Newstead Abbey with its grade 1 listed building converted into a domestic home which is best known as the ancestral home of Lord Byron. With it's 300 acre grounds it's a great place to park, explore and start a bike ride.
Sherwood Pines on the other hand is a mecca for outdoor activities making it an ideal destination for an adventurous day out in the forest. It boasts 3 trails from a family trail to the 'red' Kitchener route in addition to a bike park and skills loop.
Via cycle route 6 it's possible to cycle the 11 or so miles from Newstead Abbey to Sherwood Pines and back again. As you can see in the video I had a quality mornings Mountain bike ride just doing that before refuelling in the Sherwood Pines café. Fantastic weather for deep winter in England.
